Spike
ARAMARK
is pleased to present our nutrition mascot, Spike! Spike is our fun-loving,
kid-friendly nutrition mascot who communicates and reinforces the importance
of good nutrition and exercise.
Spike,
an energetic 8-year old boy, is from Sassafras Island. Sassafras Island
is a nice warm place surrounded by clear blue water. There are lots
of trees on Sassafras Island, blue fuzzy trees! Spike lives with Sally
his mother and Sam, his Dad. He has eight brothers and sisters. Their
names are Spank, Spark, Spice, Spork, Spunk, Sassy, Silly and Sting.
Spike likes
school and is a good student. Spike also likes sports! His favorites
include basketball, baseball, karate and soccer! He is a star soccer
player and is very friendly and outgoing. He has learned a lot about
the importance of good nutrition and exercise.
Spike encourages
students to Stay Healthy by promoting and reinforcing three key
messages to his friends and family.
Eat
Right!
Get Plenty of Sleep!
Exercise Everyday!
Throughout
the school year, Spike promotes good eating habits, proper nutrition
and a healthy lifestyle.
Our
focus is on the Eat Right! portion of the Stay Healthy
message. Spike encourages students to use the Food Pyramid as a guide
for making healthy choices in the One World Café. Spike
wants all students who visit the One World Café to Eat Right!
You can
share Spike's message with your district by implementing the programs
